Anet isn't going to ban farmers fast enough, nor do I see them addressing the issue of it being more appealing to get in game content outside of the game than inside of the game.
In fact, all I see them doing is making the gold seller's job easier by making it far too troublesome and unrewarding for a normal player to farm. Token bannings don't mean anything if the profit from farming is enough to make these companies shrug and just buy new copies of Guild Wars. Obviously, they're making money off this or it wouldn't continue to happen.
